Gráinne Hope – Cellist, Kids’ Classics Artisitic Director, Trainer of Musicians in Healthcare Settings

Grainne Hope

Gráinne is the creator and artistic director of ‘Kids’ Classics’. She qualified as a trainer of Musicians in Healthcare with Musique et Santé in Paris and with the Royal Northern College of Music in Training Trainers for Music in Healthcare Settings. As an education facilitator, she works with the Education Community and Outreach programme of the National Concert Hall and has been involved with their “Parent and Toddler” workshops and “Up Tempo” project. She has facilitated workshops for The Ark (Children’s Cultural Centre) in Dublin, tutors the YOPs Youth Orchestras and teaches strings to primary school students on Dublin City South East Strings Project. Nicholas Grennell – Actor

Nicholas Grennell

Nicholas Grennell has been acting for over thirty years in Irish and British theatres, as well as on T.V., radio and film with actors such as Hugh Grant, Mia Farrow, Alan Rickman and many others. He comes from a family of actors whose parents Aiden and Iris, were leading actors in the Gate Theatre under the management of Lord Longford for several decades.

David Hope

David Hope has been part of the ‘Kids Classics’ team for two years now. He hails from the west, Co Clare, where he began his life in music at the age of fifteen, when he first picked up a guitar. As well as being involved in youth music and teaching in his home time, David is the living embodiment of the traveling troubadour, as he spends a great deal of time on the road touring both here in Ireland and crisscrossing mainland Europe.

Dr. Julie Maisel – Senior Education Team Member

Julie Maisel

Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Dr. Julie Maisel has lived in Dublin since 2005.  She is a lecturer of Flute in the Dublin Institute of Technology’s Conservatory of Music and Drama and has been a member of Kid’s Classics since its inception in 2009.  As a freelance musician, she has worked with the Dublin Sound Lab, the Pro Arte Orchestra, the Irish Film Orchestra, the Opera Theatre Company, the Irish Baroque Orchestra and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra.

Liam Merriman – Senior Music in Healthcare Team Member

Liam Merriman

Liam Merriman is a professional folk singer, guitarist and songwriter. Trained as a hospital musician with Musique et Sante in Paris, he later qualified as a Trainer with the same internationally renowned foundation. Liam also works as musician and mentor with Waterford Healing Arts Trust and has European hospital experience.
